Moonchild's "Voyager"
Moonchild's "Voyager" |
Voyager is an appropriate title.
It is vibrant, electronic, spacey and funky all blended perfectly together into a collection of songs that will putcho soul at ease.
This album had me sitting outside just to breathe fresh air even though I live in the hood.
This album had me taking the long and scenic ride home though I know i'm to broke to spare the gas.
Man, it had me day-dreaming about my first date with some ideal man to the likes of Mos Def, Method Man, or Andre 3K when I know too well that's not happening anytime soon, lol.
Don't listen to this album if you're one with an over-active imagination and high expectations. It's a deadly combination.
The vocals were perfect with the punch-drunkenness of jazz, beautifully mixed airy reverb, and warm easy going lyrics.
My current favorite is "Cure", still on repeat as we speak. The simple beat, the chord structure, the vocal stacking?! It's all beautifully done. And then that chorus, just makes you want to dance with somebody you love. I honestly can't stop singing it.
Then, "The List", an upbeat and easy listening summertime jam that always makes me shake my shit just a lil bit. This one I'm hoping to cover with my band.
Lastly, "Hideaway" which had me sold as soon as the band's lead singer so swimmingly and sweetly sang the lyrics,
No matter what I've got to do
There's always time,
Time for you.
And it just makes a girl wanna frolic and flourish. Glow and grow. Sang and smile.
If you have the time to give this album, give this album a listen and prepare yourself for good vibes that get you in the mood to slow motion twirl with the sun in your face.
